What it is
Kona for Browser connects your browser to your organization’s KonaSense tenant to govern AI/GenAI web-app usage - it detects, redacts, warns about, or blocks sensitive data in prompts on supported AI sites.
Getting started
- Install from the Chrome Web Store.
- Click the Kona icon → paste your Organization ID (from your KonaSense administrator) → check the consent box → Connect.
- Optionally enter your email so activity is attributed to you.
- Visit a supported AI site and use it normally.
Supported browsers
Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, and others).
Supported AI sites
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Le Chat (Mistral), Poe, and Meta AI.
Common questions
Nothing happens when I submit a prompt
Redaction only fires when your organization’s policy matches sensitive content. Confirm you’re on a supported site and that your administrator has configured a policy. The popup’s Last inspection line shows what the tenant returned.
My activity shows as “Unknown User”
Enter your email during activation (Reset → reconnect with your email) so activity can be attributed to you.
How do I stop it?
Click Reset extension in the popup, or disable/uninstall it from
chrome://extensions. It is not tamper-resistant and can always be removed by you.Where does my data go?

Troubleshooting
Open the popup → enable Debug logging to log request/response details to the service-worker console (
chrome://extensions → the extension → “service worker”). Reset and reconnect if the connection status doesn’t confirm.Contact
